San Benito Fire Marshal Henry Lopez
Ex-fire marshal Henry Lopez has called into question a San Benito city ordinance proposing the elimination of his former position’s rank in favor of assigning duties.
“They’re wrong,” Lopez said plainly outside the Municipal Building Tuesday evening.
His sentiments came after the San Benito City Commission – during a regular meeting – conducted the first reading of Ordinance No. 2485, which provides “for the elimination of the rank of fire marshal and authorizing as an assignment the job functions of a fire marshal as followed by Civil Service law.”
