The Lady ’Hounds hosted the Brownsville Rivera Lady Raiders Monday in what was their first district game of the season, and just as expected San Benito’s softball team dominated the field in a 12-0 victory.
The win continues to send the message to the Valley that the Lady ’Hounds, whose record now stands at 11-2 overall and 1-0 in district, are back and perhaps stronger than ever.
Right from the start, the Lady ’Hounds got the quick three outs with a tremendous defense in the opening inning of the match, this behind the arm of sophomore pitcher Amber Jasso. San Benito then scored two runs of their own, making the score 2-0 going into the second inning.
