Minimal though significant activity has been reported prior to the filing deadline for the City of San Benito and the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District (SBCISD) Board of Trustees general elections, which is set for 5 p.m. Monday.
City Secretary Lupita Passement said Friday that the Commissioner Place 3 and Place 4 posts are up and, thus far, only Plc. 3 incumbent Bill Elliott has filed.
Plc. 4 Commissioner Celeste Z. Sanchez, who is currently a candidate for the Texas State Board of Education, said she would be making her decision on whether she’ll file come deadline.
