The old library, currently operating as the Narciso Martinez Cultural Arts Center, is a historic landmark to some in San Benito, not only in the sense of its age but in the memories it holds behind its walls.
But plans to tear down and replace the building with a cultural heritage center for the arts, a project which has long been in the works and will be designed to accommodate the city’s three museums, were approved at last Tuesday’s San Benito City Commission meeting.
