For Head Coach Eddie Abrego of the San Benito Greyhound varsity basketball team, putting the ball in the hoop has always been his love, life and passion.
Abrego, 39, began his journey in the second grade, when his father took him to a Knights of Columbus shooting tournament. “Since the first time I shot the ball, I couldn’t stop,” he said.
He continued his dream of becoming a basketball star, playing through elementary, middle school and even playing varsity for three years for the team he now coaches.
