The Rio Hondo Bobcats and Lady Bobcats enjoyed victories over rival Port Isabel squads on the basketball court, 64-58 and 54-25, respectively.
The Tarpons got off to a great start at home against the visiting Bobcats. A three-point play gave Rio Hondo the early lead, but Port Isabel got off a 14-2 run and led 20-11 at the end of the first quarter. The Tarpons kept up the pace and were up by as many as 11 in the second period, but the ’Cats fought back and it was 33-27 at the break.
