The real story should be why was this child not noticed missing from class and left lying unconscious in a bathroom for an extended period of time – all while having suffered serious injuries??? Regardless of the circumstances of the fight, it shows that this school has poor policies in place for protecting our children! They should be held accountable for this – I just dont understand why they are not addressing how this incident could have happened under their noses and yet they are mum on their lack of responsibility to the children!! I sure would not allow my child in there. And the fact that they did not call an ambulance for the child is unexcusable!

The News, “Unanswered questions,” is reporting the “sides” made available to us. We’ve made every attempt to gain more information from officials with IDEA Public Schools, and while we appreciate the statements they have released thus far, there are indeed many more questions that have gone unanswered and I assure you it is not because of a lack of effort on our part. I also wish I could address your “conflict of interest” accusation, but I simply don’t understand where the conflict lies. Allow me to take a crack at it, however. If you’re suggesting that there’s somehow a conflict between IDEA and the city through some sort of affiliation with this newspaper, you’re mistaken. The San Benito News has no affiliation with the City of San Benito or IDEA Public Schools. I hope that answers your questions.
THERE ARE TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY AND OBVIOUSLY THE NEWS IS ONLY REPORTING ONE SIDE….COULD IT BE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST WITH THE CITY AND IDEA PUBLIC SCHOOLS
So if the police report states that there were ……… so many individuals who attacked this person, where is the follow up police report? Who was arrested? Were charges followed on the individual who’s mother filed the police report? Are the cops called at all middle schools that have fights occur on campus? Did IDEA keep any information from officers? If they did not they obviously were not hiding anything.
Let’s make sure that we get our facts together before we rush to judgment. I would hope that the five individuals who allegedly committed this act are dealt with harshly, if found guilty. Still, even they are entitled to their day in court. There are good people who work at SB IDEA. So, how could this have been allowed to happen? I just don’t know. I’m waiting for the facts to come out. Let us all do the same.
I know this boy, he is a proper, polite tiny little boy. His father is a policeman and his mother works at a local engineering firm. The principal said he was suspended because the one of the asaliants had a small cut on his lip. Let throw you into a bathroom and beat the hell out of you principal, lets see if you fight back!
I would like to hear why the school has not answered the important question of how they leave a child laying on the floor hurt and dont even know he is missing from class? What kind of school are they running there? I have heard a lot of stories from people about kids being yanked by their arms, small kids having to stand all day as a punishment. This school needs to be investigated!
