Commemorative bricks with the names of local veterans who served their country were placed at the San Benito Veteran’s War Memorial this past Thursday.
The bricks were being sold as a fundraiser for $100 each, this to help the San Benito Veterans Advisory Board pay for the granite memorial and bronze pieces for the memorial’s dedication in July.
Families who wished to buy a brick were able to engrave the name of a veteran family member in honor of their service before being displayed at the memorial. Local businesses were also allowed to purchase bricks, in which the name of the business was inscribed on the brick to show their support of the memorial.
