WESLACO – The stakes were substantial Friday night at Bobby Lackey Stadium in Weslaco where the San Benito Greyhounds took on the Weslaco Panthers for a cat-dog brawl.
Both teams, coming into the game undefeated in district, knew it would not be an easy win, much less a blowout as they fought persistently to defend the district title on the football field.
There’s no question that San Benito’s program gleams gold this year as they played their hearts out for a game full of endless energy.
