Juan B SanchezJuan B. Sanchez reached his eternal rest peacefully at his home in San Benito, TX.

Juan was born and raised in San Benito, and was one of 15 children born to the late Jesus and Natalia Sanchez, and was the beloved husband of Sofia Sanchez for over 58 years.

Juan was preceded in death by his son Juan B. Sanchez, Jr.

He is survived by his son Jose M. Sanchez, daughter-in-law Dina Sanchez, daughter Sylvia Lopez, son-in-law Pablo Lopez, six grandchildren Alicia Sanchez, Jose M. Sanchez, Jr.; Gabriella Lopez, Griselda Lopez, Juan D. Lopez (JD), Pablo J. Lopez (PJ) Erica Sanchez, four great-grandchildren Bianca Sanchez, Alyssa Garza, Olivia Sanchez, Adam B. Sanchez, nephew Carlos E. Recio; sisters Magdalena Ludden, Virginia Perez, Paula Casas and Elizabeth Stanley; brothers Ramos Sanchez, Salvador Sanchez, Bernardo Sanchez, Miguel Sanchez and Florentino Sanchez, along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him.

Juan came from humble beginnings, but throughout his life managed to leave a positive touch on everybody that knew him. As a young man and member of the United States Army, Juan served in the Korean War, and upon his return from conflict was an employee of the Boundary Commission for 13 years. A very ambitious man, Juan was also self-employed as the owner of J.B. Sanchez Groceries for many years. Juan went on to become Cameron County Constable Pct. 3 for 24 years. He was elected to six consecutive terms by his peers, and loved serving the people of Cameron County.

Juan will always be remembered for his steady unwavering optimism and generosity, and will be greatly missed.

Rosary services were held on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the family owned Henry Thomae Funeral Home, 701 North Bowie, San Benito.

Church services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Burial will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park with full military honors by American Legion Post 205.

The family would also like to sincerely thank the wonderful people who gave such wonderful care for Juan in his time of need.

    This is my uncle. My Moms Brother from what I read very inspiring life. I would sum day would like to spend sum time in San Banito Texas. Meet sum of my Cusins. My mom Dorothy passed away in 2010. God Bless Texas.
