She was an educator, a historian, a model, and one of 100 important women in the Rio Grande Valley.
Clara Bow Williams Zepeda, an educator of over 40 years in San Benito, died on Sunday, May 1 in Austin, Texas. She was a woman who in her 80 years accomplished much, including the honorable distinction of being named in the book “100 Important Women in the Rio Grande Valley” – among other recognitions.
“She loved history, and she loved preserving the history,” said Zepeda’s niece and Place 4 San Benito City Commissioner Celeste Sanchez. “She was one of the founders of the Historical Society.”
Zepeda was born Aug. 22, 1930 at Fort Brown in Brownsville, where her father, Frank Williams worked as a doctor.
