On July 7, 2016, the San Benito Consolidated School District and the Amador
R. Rodriguez Juvenile Boot Camp hosted its After School Summer Camp Open House.
The center’s afterschool program is unique in that it provides challenging and rigorous academic enrichment opportunities along with vocational training for the cadets in a registered state juvenile facility.
The evening began with a presentation by David Sanchez an instructor at Texas State Technical College’s 
Telecommunication Convergence Technology Program. Sanchez highlighted the partnership between the center and TSTC. He told the parents of the opportunities the program has for their sons such as acceptance into the program upon passing their GED.
