Los Indios prepares to get new police force

For years, the City of Los Indios, which lies between the outskirts of San Benito and Mexico, has been an area solely patrolled by the Cameron County Sherriff’s Department. In a few weeks, that will no longer be the case, much to the delight of many citizens in the area.
The Los Indios Police Department is just a few technicalities away from starting up for the time ever. The interim police chief will be Cameroun County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Hushen, who helped get the police station started up seven months ago.
