They say some things get better with age. If you need any proof of that, look no further than Rey Rodriguez.
When he’s not busy working in the counselor’s office at San Benito High School, Rodriguez can be found training with the San Benito boy’s track team after school. He even occasionally wins some races against some of the younger kids, but says he’s mainly only trying to stay in shape for his competitions. This past weekend, for example, Rodriguez won a gold medal in the 400-meter run, a silver medal in the 100-meter dash, and a bronze medal in the 200-meter dash at the Texas Senior Games in San Antonio. With that performance, the 70-year-old has punched his ticket for the National competition in Alabama next summer.

Wow! Greatest story in sports . Who else in the RGV has matched him in Senior Track competition? Keep us posted we would like to go out and see him compete.
