City officials confirmed this morning that Economic Development Corporation Director Salomon Torres was relieved of his duties Wednesday night.
Assistant City Manager Art Rodriguez said City Manager Manuel De La Rosa made the decision last night, but noted that no statement would be provided as to why, citing it’s a “personnel matter.”
Former EDC President Victor Garza said Thursday morning he was unaware of the incident.
“(If that happened) That would be a concern as to the direction of where the leadership is going,” Garza said. “You have an intelligent man who has been very pro-active in increasing business and projects here in San Benito… It’s disappointing to hear that,” he added.

Ya right SB bombing with business. Lots of land everywhere and nothing on it. Tacos here Tacos there when will SB learn we do not want any business here just more houseing so we can tax the people more .
