SAN BENITO, TX—Alfredo M. Peña “China”, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving
family.
Born on July 28, 1952 to the late Roque and Juana M. Peña in San Benito, TX he was an avid Cowboys and Spurs fan. Always being surrounded by his loving wife, his daughters and grandchildren is what made him happy. After 30 years of service with CPL/AEP he retired. He loved to travel and tell stories of his military days, some of the best days of his life. He will be dearly missed and loved by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Cesario M. Peña and Rene Guajardo, Sr.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 22 years, Anna M. Peña; his seven daughters: Annette Peña (Carlos Delgado), Adriana Peña (Dennis Campbell), Kristina Peña (Albert Vega), Amanda Lee, Monique Peña, Natalia Peña, and Jessica Peña. Also surviving him are his six grandchildren: Alex, Delyssa, Carlos, Brianna, Joey, and Isreal.
He is also survived by his siblings: Roque (Francisca), Rodolfo (Aurora), Luis (Liboria), Sabas (Cheryl), Juan Antonio (Aleta), Norma Peña; as well as his aunts Juanita Martinez, Margarita Diaz, Dolores Guajardo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Directors in San Benito.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Benito Memorial Park with military honors under the auspices of VFW Post 2035.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alex and Carlos Delgado, Albert Vega, Dennis Campbell, Ruben Peña, Mario and George Montez, Edgar Rubio. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Mares and Isreal Albarran.
