A new “erroneously computed adjustment,” turned what should have been a simple raise that employees had been anxiously awaiting for into another financial fiasco for the District.
According to a press release from Celia Longoria, SBCISD’s Director of Communications, “administration is taking the appropriate steps to correct an error in salary adjustments affecting a number of San Benito CISD teachers, librarians and registered nurses.”
In the statement, the District explained that the adjustments are necessary due to an error in calculating the board approved three percent pay raise for District employees at a special school board meeting back in August. This resulted in certain staff members either being paid too much or not enough.
The District had sent out letters to employees on November 6 stating that a new employee compensation plan would be installed so the District could remain on a “more competitive level with neighboring school districts.”

Why because you are in fantasy land, did’nt you read the book? be glad you went to college and have a job. remember it’s only a game.

Now that I have yur attencion, pay attencion to what i am going to ask you. What ever happen to yur analytical skills? Angstrom.
This is beyond terrible. Our teachers continue to suffer and gaffes like these keep happening. It has to stop. Isn’t it strange that our teachers are some of the lowest paid individuals in our school district, but we pay $98,000 to an HR Director with no experience. San Benito CISD pays top dollar to administrators with little to no experience, but we go on the cheap end for our teachers. Why?
I greatly enjoyed my time working at SBCISD, but decided to move on due to crumbling leadership within the district. I now teach at a neighboring district, and has definitely been an eye opener as to the wrong doings of the San Benito school district. Glad I left when I did, wish nothing but the best to my former colleagues.
MR. BANDA!
You would have done well to verify my professional association before you volunteered the information that I am a TSTA advocate because I am not! I am a member of TCTA.
You owe me a published clarification of your indiscretion.
Thank you very much.

It’s sad that they can’t even get our pay raise correct! I wouldn’t be a bet surprised the persons who made this huge mistake will get a pay raise themselves. This is a prime example, when politicians put employees were they don’t belong.. Once again, thank you board members for failing us again!!!
