For years now, fixing the streets of San Benito has almost unanimously been at the top of everyone’s wish list. Well, that wish just got one step closer to becoming a reality as the State of Texas just overwhelmingly passed a new amendment aimed at raising the funds for street projects without directly impacting taxes.
Proposition 7, which was the final issue on Tuesday’s ballot, proposed dedicating certain sales tax revenue, rental services, and motor vehicle sales to the State Highway fund for the purpose of providing funding to fix non tolled roads and the reduction of certain transportation debt.
