The San Benito Consolidated Independent School District’s first day for the 2026-27 school year is Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, and San Benito High School’s graduation day is on Friday, May 21, 2027, in accordance with a decision made by the Board of Trustees during a regular December meeting.
The board also established dates and times for school start and end times for every student level, grading periods, STAAR testing for students beginning with third grade, holidays, and weather make-up days, among other items.
The district also determined that there will be 175 school days for all campuses.
The elementary school times will be from 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. (early release 12:15 p.m.); middle school 8:15 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. (early release 1:10 p.m.); and high school 8:30 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. (1:45 p.m.).
SBCISD recognized the following holidays, including a fall mini break on October 9 and October 12; Thanksgiving, November 23-27; Christmas and New Year, December 21-January 1, 2027; President’s Day, February 15; Spring Break, March 15-19; and Easter, March 26 and March 29.
The weather make-up days are Oct. 12, 2026, and Feb. 12, 2027.
Regarding instructors, their first day and the employee convocation are planned for August 3, 2026. The new teacher orientation is July 30-31, 2026; there will be three teacher workdays on August 7, Jan. 4, and May 21, 2027.
Professional development will be August 3-6, 2026; San Benito CISD Learning Day, September 7; and Exchange Day from May 24-27, 2027.
STAAR testing is for students entering third grade and above, including middle and high school students.
According to the calendar, the STAAR End-Of-Course (EOC) is as follows: English I will be on December 1, English II and Biology on December 2, Algebra I and U.S. History on December 3, with all make-up sessions to be completed by Friday, December 11.
The STAAR calendar for third through eighth graders is as follows: Reading, Language Arts, and English I EOC on April 6, 2027, English II EOC on April 7, with all make-up sessions to be completed by Friday, April 16, 2027.
The STAAR calendar for fifth and eighth graders is as follows: Science Biology EOC on April 13, 2027, and Social Studies U.S. History EOC (eighth graders only) on April 14, with all make-up sessions to be completed by Friday, April 23.
