RIO HONDO, TX—A male subject was recently arrested at Adolph Thomae County Park, accused of allegedly possessing “several Xanax pills,” according to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
According to a CCSO report, on Cameron Sheriff’s Deputies recently responded to the Adolph Thomae Jr., County Park, located at 37844 Marshall Hutts Rd., in Rio Hondo regarding a male subject striking three wooden roadside poles with his vehicle.
Upon arriving, deputies made contact with the suspect who was sitting inside his blue Dodge Charger parked on lot #3 inside the park.
The male subject was identified as 32-year-old Jose Guadalupe Trevino. According to the report, deputies noticed that Trevino seemed nervous and kept reaching toward the center console of his vehicle as if he was looking for something.
Trevino was asked to step out of his vehicle and upon doing so, deputies noticed that Trevino had signs of being allegedly under the influence of unknown substances due to him displaying red glossy eyes, slow slurred speech and unsteady balance, according to the CCSO.
Further investigation led the deputies locating a small plastic container in the center console of Trevino’s vehicle, containing several white pills labeled “Xanax,” reads the CCSO report. Trevino was placed under arrest and charged with T.H.S.C. 481.117: Possession of Controlled Substance, (Alprazolam), a Class “A” misdemeanor.
He was taken to the Cameron County Carrizales Rucker Detention Center in Olmito for incarceration and arraignment.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
