SBCISD holds public hearing

The graduation and dropout rates at the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District are respectively above and close to other Rio Grande Valley such entities.

Also, a total of 678 students graduated during the last schoolyear.

These figures were provided by Nneka J. McGee, chief academic officer, during her annual report presented during a public hearing before the district’s board of trustees on Tuesday, Feb 14.

She also discussed the Texas Academic Performance, financial and the violent or criminal incidents on campus report as well as the district’s accreditation and the student performances on postsecondary institutions.

McGee was of two district staffers who addressed the board during the one-agenda item of the meeting.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, the board to was to hold a regular meeting to discuss a number of consent and action items.

They included requests of approval of the Clinical Education Affiliation Agreement between the school district and Golden, a memorandum of understanding with Texas State Technical College Migrant Academic Achievement Residential Summer (MAARS) Program and of the Middle School Course Catalog, both for the 2023-2024 school years.
