BROWNSVILLE—To commemorate Veteran’s Day, Cameron County is organizing a march to be held from the parking lot of the HEB on Central Blvd. and Boca Chica Blvd. to the Veteran’s Park next to the Brownsville Public Library.
County Judge Eddie Trevino Jr. made the announcement during Tuesday’s meeting of the commissioners’ court.
The administrative body also approved a proclamation declaring November as Veterans Month and paid homage to the county’s 16,000 members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Dr. Martin Rodriguez, director of the county’s veterans’ office, said behind every member who has served or is serving today are their families playing equal roles.
The march is set to start at 11 a.m. this Friday and Trevino said the public is invited to attend the event.
The commissioners heard the last quarterly report from Joe Vega, director of the county parks system.
