Perez working with businesses to claim tax credits

Special to the NEWS

San Benito’s own David A. Perez, popularly known as “Mr. Economy”, is actively working with business owners in every industry to help them claim one of the largest credits available.

The tax write-off, called the Employee Retention Credit (ERC), delivers thousands of dollars in tax credits per employee to qualified applicants. But the tax code is complicated and making mistakes can be costly, he warns.

“This is the largest business tax write-off the IRS has ever offered,” said Perez. “I’m an entrepreneur and business scaling strategist. It pains me to see businesses pay taxes.”

Perez is known in the business world as the entrepreneur’s entrepreneur because he’s been right where these growing businesses have been.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 (Act), signed into law on December 27, 2020, contains significant enhancements and improvements to the Employee Retention Credit (ERC) for 2020-2021. The ERC is a refundable payroll tax credit for wages paid and health coverage provided by an employer whose operations were either fully or partially suspended due to a COVID-19-related governmental order or that experienced a significant reduction in gross receipts.
