Friday night the San Benito Lady ’Hounds shut out the Brownsville Pace Viqueens in a complete team effort with a score of 15-0.

The Lady ’Hounds set the fast no mercy pace from the moment they stepped on the field and left the Lady Viqueens far behind. In the first inning the Lady ’Hounds kept them from reaching base with a quick three outs.

Offensively the Lady ’Hounds brought out their big bats scoring 13 runs in their first at bat. The entire line-up contributed with great hits the Lady Viqueens could not touch, especially Amanda Garza’s double RBI over the fence home run.

The Lady ’Hounds continued to dominate in the second inning keeping the Lady Viqueens from scoring and scoring one run in the bottom of the second.

At the top of the third, Lady ’Hound ace Amber Jasso retired all three batters with strike outs. Ending the game at the bottom of the third inning was Adriana “Squirt” Flores with a line drive passed the shortstop to bring Mary Rivas for a run and the game to an end.

Head Coach Elias Martinez was thrilled with the Lady ’Hounds’ performance but knows the best is yet to come in district play.

“There’s so much parody in our district every game is tough. We gotta bring our A-game every game,” said Martinez.

The Lady ’Hounds are set to play the Lady Falcons at Los Fresnos on Tuesday, March 15. Game time is at 7 p.m.
