The 2010 football season officially went into the history books this past Sunday as the San Benito Greyhounds Quarterback Club held its annual season ending football banquet at the high school.

With the guest speaker Roberto Garza of the Chicago Bears speaking before a sold out crowd the players, coaches and fans all talked about this year and about the bright future for Greyhound Nation.

Head Coach Spencer Gantt recognized the younger players from a freshmen and JV squad that turned in outstanding records.

“This is a bright future,” said Gantt, “and we expect great things from these players that are already accomplishing their goals.”

Garza, who played football here in the Valley while attending Rio Hondo High School, talked to the players about dreaming big and never giving up.

“I was told that I was too small,” said Garza, “I was told I came from a school that was too small, but none of that mattered. I knew what I could do, I knew what I had to do, and now 10 years later I am still playing at the highest level.”
