RIO HONDO – Election season is in full bloom in Rio Hondo, and facing off for the Place 4 seat on the Rio Hondo City Commission is incumbent Miguel “Mike” Uresti and challenger Kitter Huerta.
“The thing I’m basing my campaign on is we’re working on the safe shelter, which is in case of a hurricane or a disaster,” said Uresti. “We’re getting that built. We’re moving that forward right now. I just want to bring in the afterschool program into the building because it’s a multi-purpose building. We want to go ahead and make it an events center and afterschool programs available for the kids there.”
Uresti said he and his fellow commissioners have performed to the best of their abilities for the people of Rio Hondo.
