RIO HONDO – As early voting comes to an end and Election Day nears on May 11, Rio Hondo ISD races are heating up.
In the race for Place 4 Rio Hondo ISD Board of Trustees, incumbent Rene Alfaro faces challenger Claudia Villalobos. Alfaro was not available for comment as of presstime but did submit a prepared statement in regards to his campaign.
According to Alfaro’s statement, as a member of the Rio Hondo ISD Board of Trustees, he plans to “continue providing the best leadership I can give. My goals are to continue to compete in attracting quality educators for our children, work hard on finding funding sources for programs that will enhance our children’s education and to take care of our administrators and teachers.”
