According to a press release from the Office of the Cameron County Tax Assessor-Collector, approximately 73.14% of Cameron County’s property tax collections have been paid.

According to the press release, in accordance with the Texas Property Tax Code Sec. 33.01 (Penalties and Interest), the public should pay the taxes due or take advantage of various payment plan options before February 1, 2026, to avoid additional penalties, interest, tax lawsuits, court costs, and tax foreclosure.
