As early voting for the Nov. 4, 2025, Constitutional Amendments Election closes on Friday, Oct. 31, nearly 9,000 voters across the county have already cast their ballots, according to the Cameron County Elections Administration Office’s reported numbers as of Wednesday evening.
The San Benito Community Building on Heywood Street has recorded 450 ballots cast through Wednesday’s totals. Since early voting began on Oct. 20, about 40 voters have participated each day, with a peak of 70 voters on Wednesday.
Los Fresnos voters cast 845 ballots at the Los Fresnos Community Center, while Rio Hondo recorded 143 ballots at the community’s Municipal Center through Wednesday. Meanwhile, Los Indios reported 20 ballots cast.
The Brownsville Public Library location led the pack countywide, casting 2,088 ballots. The Harlingen County Annex Building reported 816 ballots cast as of Wednesday.
The last day to apply for a mail-in ballot was Friday, October 24, 2025.
For in-person voting, voters are allowed to bring notes and/or a sample ballot, but cell phones must be turned off upon entering the voting locale.
Taking photos or selfies at the voting site is also prohibited. Voters are also asked not to wear or display any political attire or accessories such as caps, buttons, jewelry, or T-shirts while at the voting location.
While voters don’t need their official voting cards to vote, they must present valid ID such as a state-issued driver’s license, an official ID card, a carry license, or a military ID.
Student IDs will not be accepted. Registered voters can cast their ballots at any voting location across the county, as long as they present a valid ID. Curbside voting is also available at designated locations, and voters will be asked to choose between a paper or electronic ballot.

Ed Downs Elementary School, 1302 N. Dick Dowling, San Benito,
La Paloma Elementary School, 35076 Padilla St., San Benito.
