Jose Luis Garza, a San Benito resident, was arrested on Friday, October 17, 2025 and faces serious drug possession charges with the intent to distribute.
According to the San Benito Police Department (SBPD), on October 17, 2025, members of the SBPD’s Special Investigative Unit and K9 Division apprehended Garza for the offenses of Manufacturing / Delivering / Possession of Controlled Substances.
Investigators followed up on information provided to the SBPD that Garza was behind a drug distribution ring operating within city limits, according to a SBPD press statement.
Garza’s residence was searched by investigators who seized the following: 1,894 grams of cocaine (Man/Del Controlled Substance PG1, $250,000 bond); 76 grams of Hydrocodone (Man/Del Controlled Substance PG3, $200,000 bond); 46 grams of Alprazolam (Man/Del Controlled Substance PG3, $200,000 bond); 3.9 lbs. of Marijuana (Possession of Marijuana, $50,000 bond) and 22 grams of THC (Man/Del Controlled Substance PG3, $250,000 Bond).
Garza was jailed and received a total bond of $950,000 for the five offenses. He was charged with drug distribution and possession of controlled substances.
All suspects are innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
