With the beginning of the Texas High School 2025-26 Football season just weeks away, leaders with the San Benito Quarterback Booster Club are letting the community know about the advantages of being part of the organization as members and sponsors.

Whether Greyhound fans have a child, relative, friend, or just are a fan of the San Benito Greyhounds’ football program, the club has vital details that potential sponsors and members should be aware of to participate or join.

It costs $20 per person annually to be a booster, and the organization is raising funds this month through July 27. An online fan shop on the San Benito Quarterback Booster Club website (sbqbclub.com) launched on July 14. Fans can purchase spirit items such as T-shirts, polos, and sweatshirts, including official Nike gear.

Also slated are fundraising events at Jason’s Deli in Harlingen on Wednesday, July 30 and Thursday, July 31, both from 4 to 9 p.m.

Monica Anaya, club president, said those who come to the restaurant will meet club officers and have questions answered about the club, and also mingle with Greyhounds players while they purchase a meal.

“The club will receive 20 percent of sales from these two nights,” Anaya said. “Just mention the San Benito Quarterback Booster Club at the register.”

If last spring is any indication of how this football season will go for the club and its members, it’s going to be outstanding, Anaya said.

“The spring event that was held during last school year that we called ‘San Benito Football Fan Night’ was a huge success. We had over 80 people attend, talk to coaches, and tour the state-of-the-art sports facilities,” Anaya said. “We also had 15 individuals sign up to become club members.”

For fans wishing to contact a club officer or member, the club’s email is sbquarterbackclub@gmail.com.

“All of the funds raised will directly go to support various activities throughout the season, including pre- and postgame meals, senior parents’ night, homecoming and Battle of the Arroyo festivities, and student-athlete scholarships,” Anaya said.

One of the events that has become an extremely popular tradition is pasta night, and Anaya said it’s made possible by the generous support of parents.

To ensure every player can take part, pasta night is held each Thursday during the season at approximately 4:45 p.m. in the San Benito High School cafeteria.

For more information on hosting a pasta night, contact Bea Escobedo at (956) 873-1328.

The San Benito Quarterback Booster Club has changed the procedures regarding sponsorship.

Anaya said as part of the club’s ongoing efforts to support the San Benito High School football program, a new initiative will be introduced this upcoming season. “We will be displaying varsity player posters with business or individual sponsor names at Bobby Morrow Stadium throughout the season,” Anaya said.

“Thousands of spectators will have the opportunity to see businesses showcased during every home game offering exposure to a dedicated and engaged community.”

So far there are five sponsors who have signed up. They are Chuy’s Custom Sports, The Jewelry Connection, Sunset Vibes Travel, AGIII Contractors, RA AutoPlex LLC, and Kickin’ Axes RGV.

Sponsorship levels are as follows:
BRONZE ($150) — Player poster with business/individual sponsor name to be displayed at the stadium for the season;

SILVER ($250 to $499) — Player poster with business/individual sponsor name to be displayed at the stadium for the season, also a “thank you” on the club’s social media pages, and a framed team photo;

GOLD ($500 to $749) — Player poster with business/individual sponsor name to be displayed at the stadium for the season, also a “thank you” on the club’s social media pages, recognition during every home game, a framed team photo, two tickets to any regular season home game, and $10 concession stand credit.

“We have also created a website (www.sbqbclub.org) where all this information can be found and donations can even be made online,” Anaya said. “Fans and parents can also find forms for paying memberships dues and signing up to volunteer in the concessions stand or host team pasta nights.”

Other club officers are Vice President, Elaine Hernandez, Treasurer, Yadira Abrego, and Secretary, Tommy Ramirez.
