Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies made multiple arrests this week after responding to separate incidents.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS
On Friday, Aug. 9, 2024, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call in the vicinity of San Benito regarding a verbal disturbance which resulted in a criminal trespass arrest.

According to the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies made contact with a female complainant who alleged that Uriel Romero arrived at her residence and began arguing with her. The complainant informed deputies that Romero had been warned, many times before, that he was not wanted on the property.

Cameron County Sheriff’s Dispatch confirmed that the suspect was given a criminal trespass warning on July 13, 2024. Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies promptly arrested Romero for Criminal Trespass, TPC: 30.05.

Romero was transported to the Cameron County Carrizales Rucker Detention Center in Olmito where he was booked for said charge.

ALLEGED VIOLATION
In a separate encounter, a Los Fresnos man was arrested earlier in the month for allegedly violating a protective order.

According to a CCSO report, on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on the 31000 block of FM 2893 in Los Fresnos, regarding a possible violation of a protective report.

A concerned citizen reported that a male subject, 38-year-old Hijinio Moreno, was present at the residence where the person under the protective order resides.

Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies contacted Moreno, and the person protected under the emergency order. Deputies confirmed the emergency protective order was still in effect and detained Moreno, whom deputies determined was allegedly found in violation of the protective order by being within 200 feet of the person identified in the order.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Moreno and transported him to the Cameron County Carrizales Rucker Detention Center in Olmito pending arraignment. Moreno is charged with Violation of Bond/Protective Order, TPC 25.07: a Class “A” Misdemeanor.

All parties are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
