Chamber slates museum mixer

The San Benito Chamber of Commerce (SBCC) is hosting a mixer at the San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum for current and prospective members. The networking event, scheduled for Wednesday, Jul. 24, 2024 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., features art, free refreshments, and will be held at the SBCHM, 250 E. Heywood St., San Benito.

According to Chamber officials, the event is to serve as a recruitment effort for new members to the Chamber. New members, in turn, will receive a 20% discount on their membership if they sign up at the event, and current members will receive a ten percent discount off their membership fee if they bring a new member.

“The San Benito Cultural Arts Department is excited to host this amazing group of dedicated folks at the San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum,” said Aleida Garcia, City of San Benito Cultural Arts Director, who encourages all to, “Meet local business owners” and “Maybe be inspired to join the San Benito Chamber of Commerce.” Garcia also said that the evening will feature a performance by flamenco guitarist Jorge Mascorro.

The Chamber’s website lists the benefits of membership, including networking and business promotional opportunities. Members are also able to promote their businesses through the Chamber’s website and social media pages, as well as participate in sponsored Chamber events. Development workshops and networks to foster more experienced personnel are available to support startups and budding entrepreneurs. Anyone who wishes to sign up outside of the event can go onto the Chamber’s website for prospective member dues.
According to its website, the San Benito Chamber of Commerce is an organization dedicated to harboring a good relationship between the businesses of San Benito, the public and general government.

This is part of the efforts to nurture a good economy for the area and help the community prosper. Small businesses are encouraged to join, as are higher-end operations. The chamber also gives to local charities and engages with community initiatives.

The San Benito Cultural Heritage Museum works to maintain the presence of area culture, art, and history in a way that the entire community can experience. The museum is currently holding a sculpture exhibition called, “Due South 2024” by regional Texas artists from the Texas Sculpture Group. This is just one of their many regular exhibitions. They also highlight artists from different backgrounds on their social media pages.
