San Benito is receiving a new dose of morning Joe.
Starbucks has a tentative opening date set of late March for its San Benito location.
“Consumers can expect what they already know from the brand itself,” said Eunice Benitez, the new Starbucks manager. “As a San Benito native myself, I am excited to bring something San Benito has never had, and being able to bring the products that locals drive outside of our area for to their doorstep is special to me.”
The new locale is replacing the old Popeye’s location on South Sam Houston and Expressway 83 and will employ 30 partners.
According to Benitez, the location’s previous opening date was set for February 13; however, due to delays on equipment deliveries, they have since pushed back their opening date.
San Benito Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cathy Weaver said she has been in contact with Benitez about the location’s opening, which is garnering tremendous enthusiasm from the public.
“During our Chamber meetings, that’s the first thing people ask about now, and I even get phone calls asking,” Weaver said.
