CCSO executes area arrests

The Cameron County Sherriff’s Office (CCSO) Deputies arrested a number of individuals this past week on an array of charges.

MAN ARRESTED FOR FILING FALSE REPORT

According to the CCSO, on February 27, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested a male for False Report to a Peace Officer.

According to a CCSO report, on February 20, 2023, CCSO Deputies responded to Elias Cir. in San Benito, in reference to a stolen vehicle report. Upon arrival, contact was made with Humberto Guajardo, 28- years-old.

As per Guajardo, the report stated, his 2016 Chevrolet Silverado had been taken from his residence without his consent.

In addition, Guajardo remarked that he was current on payments; therefore the truck was not repossessed. Furthermore, Guajardo mentioned that if the truck was recovered, he did not want it back.

The case was assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division and an investigation was initiated. After conducting a preliminary investigation, investigators were able to obtain video footage and discovered the truck had been crossed into Mexico on Feb. 20, 2023.
