On December 27, 2022, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 3300 Block of Ricardo Rd. in San Benito, in reference to a family disturbance involving a firearm.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the alleged victim who stated she had a verbal argument with her spouse, Alfred Schuetze, due to their two-year-old infant who was crying.

According to a statement released by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the victim further stated that Schuetze was irate and asked her, “Are you going to do something about it? He (the infant) is crying.” At this time, the victim tended to their son, but asked Schuetze to help her feed their three-month-old baby, the CCSO statement read.

The victim noticed that Schuetze was not feeding their baby in the “correct” manner, and another verbal argument ensued, according to the statement. According to the victim, Schuetze did not want to deal with either of their babies.

To avoid any other confrontation, the victim went inside her room with both babies, but Schuetze came into the room allegedly irate and took away her keys, money and phone. At this time, the victim left walking to a nearby aunt’s residence.
