It all started with a simple idea to “bringing families together.”
This idea is what sparked in the mind of founder and San Benito businessman David A. Perez. With the concept of Free Hunger Nation (FHN) now a burning desire for him to give back to the communities that he already served as a local business owner, in 2013, Perez decided to deliver turkey dinners to families whom, he felt, could use not only a meal, but also a warm family gathering.
This was a small feat, Perez recalled, with only 12 dinners delivered that first year. He knew, however, he was on to something because many people, his friends, his family, his team included, asked how they could contribute.
By 2014, the first big event was hosted. Perez then decided to take this to the next level by inviting the local community, as well as his friends and family, to contribute in the same way he was doing, but on a larger scale.
