COMMENT towards newspaper article: “Stonewall Jackson hotel receives buyer inquiries”

What the heck is Mr. Ron Rogers talking about?

A seller of real estate property does not care or is concerned about necessary permits or environmental studies or city ordinances the buyer would have to face.

The seller just wants to sell the property. The seller has no control in what or how the buyer wants to use the property. Mr. Rogers statement that …”we all want to see the building used in the best possible way for San Benito” makes no sense or reason.

Just sell the darn building and let the new owner do as they wish. The seller cannot put conditions on what the buyer can do with the property. That is just plain absurd.

Two stories being told on this story. SB newspaper report is that Marriott pulled the plug on the project. VMS reports that the developer failed to come to terms with Marriott. Which in turn led to the ditching of the project. Which story is correct? Was the city in negotiations with Marriott or a developer hoping to cash in on the sale of a developed hotel?

The VMS story is correct. The Marriot was in negotiations w/developer. If it was the Marriot.
