Chambers found guilty of Tampering with Government Records

Eleven months after being arrested on 14 counts of tampering with government evidence, former Indian Lake Police Chief John Chambers was found guilty on all counts on Friday in the 103rd State District Court of Texas. Chambers was found to have made false entries in the firearm qualification records of various officers and reserve officer of the Indian Lake Police Department. The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE), the Texas Rangers and the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office conducted the investigation.
