The San Benito CISD Department of Special Education held their ninth annual Motor Activity Training Program (MATP) this past Wednesday in the Veterans Memorial Gym. MATP is designed for individuals who have severe limitations that prevent them from participating in the Special Olympics.
The event started with the traditional introduction of each participating school, and then went on to the lighting of the torch. Event organizer and Special Education Coordinator Rick Tamez was ecstatic to see another successful event for the over 140 kids participating. All kids between ages 4-15 participated.
