Three months after the search for a new San Benito City Manager began, City officials are finally ready to narrow down the number of applicants to just a few names who will then be interviewed in the following weeks. A special City meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at the San Benito Municipal Building at 5:30 p.m.
According to San Benito Mayor Celeste Sanchez, the entire meeting is to be held in executive session in which the City Commission will go over the list of 18 applicants to find one they deem suitable to take the position.
“We’re each going to be going over the packets of applicants to see which ones we think best match the criteria that we’re looking for,” said Sanchez. “There won’t be a final decision made at the meeting, but we will narrow it down to the ones who we think deserve an interview.
