When Alejandro Lugo was in middle school, most of his athletic focus was on soccer. He had grown up playing it and felt he was pretty good at it. Then, his friends convinced him to join the football team. He hasn’t looked back since.
“At first I liked soccer a lot more, but right now I’d probably have to say football is more fun for me,” said Lugo. “I really enjoy it.”
With the Greyhounds up by one touchdown this past Friday night against the Chargers, Lugo, the Greyhounds starting varsity kicker and punter over the last two years, stepped out on the field for a 49-yard field goal just a few minutes before halftime. A miss would have given the ball back to the Chargers at midfield and could have swung momentum right before the half.
“I wasn’t really nervous, I was more focused on just making that kick,” added Lugo. “In practice, I’ve been able to hit 57-yarders, so I knew it was something I could do.”

  1. At the end of every rainbow there might be a pot of gold waitng . That is why when the kicker kicks off the ball to start the game you run down the filed like a bat out of the skn just in case the reciever drops the ball and there a a fumble.
