For the first time ever, the Girls’ World Expo will be coming to the Rio Grande Valley this weekend on October 17, and one local teen was invited.
One of ten Rio Grande Valley Girls of Merit to be honored this Saturday will be Criseve “Evie” Montez, a ninth grade student from Rio Hondo High School.
The Expo, which is a nationwide event for girls ages 11-18, is an event where teenage girls can spend a day hearing from and meeting successful women from their own community.
One of the most eventful moments at the Expo is the presentation of a “Girls Merit Award,” that is presented to ten different girls throughout the region that have proven themselves exceptional members of the community through their actions, activities, leadership, and positive influence on others.
