Police: Man choked wife until she was unconcious

Almost three weeks after originally having an assault charge filed against him, a San Benito man has finally been arrested for allegedly abusing his wife. Lorenzo C. Gonzalez, 22, was arrested Sunday night at his apartment complex down South McCullough after a warrant was issued for an incident that allegedly occurred on July 3.

According to a press release from the San Benito Police Department, Gonzalez is being charged with Assault Family Violence/ Impeding breath – a 3rd degree felony- for choking his 21-year-old common-law wife. The victim was reportedly still living with Gonzalez at the ti
