If all goes as planned, the traffic light on McCullough should be operational by late February, according to San Benito Mayor Celeste Sanchez.

The light has been out since Oct. 8, 2014, when an auto accident damaged the electrical box that controls the traffic signal and two utility poles, according to a police report. The City installed a stop sign to control traffic flow, and it currently functions as a four-way stop.

Unfortunately the Mayor has no control in getting the light functional. Responsibility for such failure starts at the TOP of the City Administration, (those PAID to run the City). The City Manager must have other priorities?? So much for that ‘public safety’ rhetoric.
