Early voting count exceeds previous elections

Elections graphicAfter five days, the early voting total has already surpassed that of previous elections in San Benito.

As of Friday, May 2, approximately 2,300 votes have been cast in early voting, already surpassing the total amount of the 2012 elections which saw a total of 2,082.

According to San Benito CISD Business Manager Emma McCall, approximately 1,310 votes were cast for the school board elections after five days. In comparison to the previous elections, a total of 944 votes had been cast in the same amount of time. A grand total of 1,321 votes were cast in the 2012 elections.

According to City Secretary Lupita Passement, 990 votes have been cast in the San Benito City Commission elections after five days. In comparison to the previous elections, a total of 543 votes were cast in the same amount of time. A grand total of 761 votes were cast in that election.
