The San Benito Police Department is a total joke within itself. I have dealt with some of the arrogant officers that are suppose to protect and serve our community. It is unfortunate they are even on the force, and I have very little respect for them. Of course, there are those officers who should be commended and honored for the work that they do and I applaud them. Maybe, the Harlingen Police Department should take over the SBPD…wishful thinking.
If you think sbpd is bad, hpd is worse. Harlingen pd is playing games by stopping people and getting rewarded. I wouldn’t want that police state here in sb. You might say if you got nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about, Wrong. To serve the people is no game . Harlingen pd can stay in Harlingen.
Is that the new Police Patch? It looks like COPY CAT PATCH. INTEGRITY AND HONOR give me a break. It is a rip off to pay 30.00 for a Police Report when other cities charge nothing. Oh and Stookey Park 800.00 to rent what a Joke. The people of SAN BENITO come Election Day take our city back.
I respect the work the City of San Benito and the SBPD do. But, I don’t respect it either. How about a smile every now and then? How about a hello how are you every now then? How about actually working every now and then? I’m sure the city and the pd are very capable of doing a better job of rounding up the 5+ million in fees yet to be collected. How about updating your lists so that time working can be spent more effectively? How about not driving to houses with false warrants and accusations? How about not not sitting in parking lots chit chatting with other coworkers? How about not sitting waiting around to do your job until the camera man behind you is set up film? Waste of gas. Waste of time. Waste of tax payers money. How about hiring an effective animal control department? A dog catcher that can actually call dogs. Someone who can actually catch cats. How about hiring someone that will show up in a decent response time to serve a tax paying citizen that has a concern? How about hiring someone who actually answers the phone? The city of San Benito and the SBPD need to do a better job with the money they already have. With the money they have already received and collected in fees. What about all the tickets judges dismiss because a friend calls them to do them a favor and help them out. What about the money that could have been collected but wasn’t because “I’m gonna give you a break sir but don’t forget I helped you out so please vote me” happened?
I understand the SBN, VMS, and Ch5 are just reporting a story and the city is pushing it in the press so they cause scare tactics and actual work to collect more money. Props for that. But there is always more to the story.
