The San Benito Police Department is increasing the number of officers on patrol to combat an anticipated rise in burglaries expected during the holiday season.
Known as Operation Noel, SBPD Operations Chief Martin Morales Jr. explained that intent of the department is to help reduce the crime rate in the city during this time, as it is generally known to increase.
“It started as of last night, and it’s going to continue well after the New Year,” Morales said Thursday.
