Dr. Raul Garza Jr., a longtime public servant and reputable physician who formerly owned a night clinic in San Benito, died Tuesday morning at the age of 82.
The doctor’s family was in the process of making funeral arrangements at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito on Tuesday, according to his son Remi Garza.
Garza died in the early morning hours of Nov. 26. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed as of presstime Tuesday; however, it has been reported that Garza was diagnosed with lung cancer.

He was a good man and a great doctor he helped me so much I will always miss him thank you Doctor Garza you are a great man
Dr. Raul Garza was a great friend of mine. I take his death to heart and know that he will always be in my prayers and Mass Intentions. Such a gentel and giving soul. May he rest in peace and the Angels take him to meet God!
