Ernestine Neely, a graduate of San Benito High School and former educator, will turn 103 on Saturday, Sept. 28. She’s pictured here at her Canterbury Court residence in Harlingen.

HARLINGEN — She can rattle off stories, memories and can even still play a pretty good piano.

No doubt, at 103 years young, Ernestine Neely is still just as sharp as ever.

Neely, a proud former San Benito resident, celebrates her milestone birthday this weekend with family and friends at her residence at Canterbury Court in Harlingen. Family from as far away as North Carolina will attend a party and dinner in her honor.
